The Perfect Poached Egg
Posted on March 09, 2010 by Sarah in Breakfast, Food, News | 4 Comments
Sick of scrambled eggs – try poached! I always assumed that poached eggs were for folks who had more culinary expertise and patience then little ol’ me. Although I love to cook - I find more frustration then satisfaction when trying to make ANYTHING that is as lovely and delicate as a poached egg. BUT – thanks to [...]

It’s been raining like crazy and cold here in Chico, so what’s better to warm up the body and soul than some stew. This recipe is almost too easy – total comfort food AND it’s super diverse. Here is the basic recipe but I say add whatever you want and I bet it will be even better! Oh, and I’m mildly [...]

Sirloin Dijon and Brussel Sprouts
Posted on February 22, 2010 by Sarah in Dinner, Food, News | 5 Comments
This dish reminded me of beef stroganoff, but better!! I did use some heavy whipping cream so if you want to stay away from the dairy component in this dish, I would substitute with chicken broth and add more mustard to make it a bit tangier rather then creamy.
Sirloin Dijon
1 1/2 lbs thinly sliced sirloin [...]

If I had a dollar for every time someone has asked me, “What do you feed your kids when eating Paleo?” I would be a gazillionaire… The short answer is, they eat what I make - and what I allow in my house. If you only have healthy options available in YOUR house, there will not be [...]
