Sweet Potato Latkes

My boys love Sweet Potato Hash for breakfast but frankly, I’m kind of tired of it, so last weekend I decided to make my pile of freshly grated potatoes into sweet potato pancakes, or latkes if you will. We topped the savory sweet cakes with bacon and fried eggs.  Yum.

My Holiday Ramblings and Our Christmas Menu

Wow, I can’t believe it’s almost here.  Christmas again.  I really do love the holidays but  I always find myself feeling nostalgic and a bit emotional as we head towards the 25th of December.  I miss the simplicity of how it used to be when I was little; when my mom was still with us and the innocence of not knowing that someday we would have to face Christmas without her. My Teenagers Perspective on Paleo: Guest Blog by Coby Fragoso

*Note from Sarah: Coby.  My oldest son.  My teenage hero and the kid that keeps me sane when his little brothers are driving me crazy.  I wish I could explain to you what Coby means to me but how could I? Below is what he has written; from the heart of a 16 year old, he has shared with you his own personal paleo journey – short and sweet and to the point. Thank you Coby for your honesty and your willingness to put yourself out there in hopes to share with other kids that living this lifestyle can be your own unique experience.    Continue reading

Scrumptious Salmon Chowder

It’s getting chilly here in Northern CA.  Before you say anything, I know, cold in Chico is nothing compared to cold in Denver, CO for example (I had a layover in that beautiful city over the weekend and yes at 0 degrees, I realize what cold  really feels like), but still, it’s a damp 32 degrees this morning and for me, that’s cold!!   Continue reading

*Another post to enjoy from Katie of Wellness Mama!

It is hard to believe that Christmas is fast-approaching already. If you have other paleo-enthusiasts on your list, or just want your gift to have a positive impact on the person you give it to, handmade gifts can be the best way to go.

After all, what can you get for a paleo enthusiast who doesn’t eat processed foods, works out with minimal equipment, and sometimes even goes barefoot or wears minimal shoes? Continue reading
