Paleo Talk Episode 29

How-Dee! Last week everyone and their mother went crazy for Episode 28 and having the “PLAY NOW” button right smack dab on the home page sent our system resources all crazy. (I doubt that you want me to talk about tcpsndbuf failures) This week the podcast is still served via RSS, iTunes and Stitcher and is available by download but I removed the streamplayer to do some observation. Real-time experimentation goin on ’round here!

    Sarah, Chrissy, and Dain, your podcast keeps me company in the minivan as I run around. You educate me while also making me laugh and think – thank you.

    I would like to send a message to the woman who asked about the 80/20 rule. Natalia, I can assure you – from someone that has made the transition to eating ancestrally in order to gain health and maybe stop being obese myself – as you go more and more into Paleo eating, even thinking about eating grains, rices, legumes, etc… will seem more and more foreign. For the first few months, it will be hard, very hard, to figure out how to eat some of your favorite foods in your new chosen lifestyle. Some of them will go the way of the dodo bird, and some of them will be important enough to alter in order to keep enjoying. If you just try eating a Paleo diet for 30 days, you will feel more clear headed, energetic, and rested than you have in a long time. Eventually, it will simply not be worth it to you to add grains, rices, and legumes back into your diet.

    When I went to the movies the day before yesterday, I ate a large portion of popcorn, and wound up paying dearly for it. My husband and I both came home from our matinee feeling poorly and fuzzy headed. Yesterday was not pleasant, the best I can say is that I managed to function my way through the day. When I woke up this morning, I was much improved, but still not totally back to 100%. After being up for an hour, it occurred to me that this is the way that I used to feel ALL THE TIME.

    Natalie – If you start on the road towards an ancestral diet, your improved mood, clarity, and energy will keep you going down the road to Paleo. Godspeed!

    Am I missing something or is this really the latest podcast? :( I’ve caught up to this point and I’m ready for #30. Can’t find any more on iTunes. Wassup?

    Awww, yeah I listen to that one too. :). But I will miss hearing Chrissy and Dain along with you. The fitness one is my serious paleo and this one was my family fun one. :)
