So, on to what’s new in our world! Wow, what an exciting couple of weeks it has been! For those of you who follow me on Facebook, you already know that I’m currently in Los Angeles, CA and last night of all CRAZY amazing things, I attended The Grammy’s in support of my sister Laura Sullivan who was up for a Grammy for Best New Age Album of the Year. Well, guess what. My sister WON THE GRAMMY!!!!!! This accomplishment is out of this world and my family has been an emotional pile of happiness, excitement, joy, and love and I haven’t really slept in days and to be honest, at this moment I don’t care about the health implications of my lack of sleep, I am only grateful to have been a part of this amazing ride. My sister’s first piano teacher was my mom and at the age of 4 Laura started playing piano and has literally never stopped. What makes this Grammy award so spectacular (besides that it IS spectacular) is how hard Laura has worked to achieve this honor. Laura is an independent artist who releases her music under her own label alongside her husband as producer. Laura has plenty of support from colleagues, musicians, friends and family but not the support of giant PR firms or enormous record labels and only with her diligent work, grassroots efforts, and all of this highlighted of course by her amazing music, the Academy has honored my sister in the biggest way. Congratulations sweet sister, you always will be one of my greatest inspirations. I love you.
